Listening 1. Students can understand sentences and strings of sentences
2. Students can comprehend key information in slow, clear speech and texts
3. Students can use intonation and tone of voice effectively to convey meaning
4. Students can follow instructions to complete a task and respond to questions
5. Students can seek clarification of meaning using common statements and questions
Speaking 6. Students can describe a familiar object using adjectives in a few sentences,
exchange ideas and information, and narrate stories
Vocabulary 7. Students know words related to adjectives, adverbs, cause and effect relationships,
prepositions, opinions, feelings, antonyms, synonyms, homonyms, word pairs, and 1-200
number words in Punjabi
Language 8. Students can modify root words using prefixes
Structures 9. Students can use suffixes to differentiate gender specific nouns, verbs and adjectives
10. Students can identify simple, compound and complex sentences
11. Students can identify antonyms, synonyms and homonyms
12. Students can identify the nouns that do not change in plural form
13. Students can identify similarities and differences in the sentence-level elements
(morphology or syntax or both) of the languages the students know.
